KYOTOEIC / RECORDS

How records are kept, and how you manage them

The exam and Survival use different ways to access records. Check what is stored and where to recover or delete it before playing.

The exam

The server stores your nickname, exam date, assigned questions, answers, result and certificate issue record. A real name or date of birth is not required. A browser cookie establishes ownership of the private result. Someone with a verification URL can see a masked nickname, score, grade and date.

Survival guests and accounts

Play dates, choices, results, a nickname and an internal identifier maintain the diary. Connecting Google uses a unique account identifier to link sign-ins on other devices. The Survival privacy page linked below explains cookie lifetimes, sign-in and deletion in detail.

Record and deletion requests

You can delete a Survival account and diary in the profile. Contact us about exam records. Ownership may need to be verified to avoid deleting another person's data. Signing out or clearing cookies does not automatically delete server records.

Information stored in your browser

We use cookies to verify ownership of exam results and maintain access to Survival records and signed-in sessions. Survival guest cookies last up to 180 days; account sessions last up to 90 days. Your theme preference is stored in localStorage. During an exam, selected answers and your current question position are stored in sessionStorage so they can be restored after a reload. Clearing browser data may remove preferences or access to guest records, but does not automatically delete records stored on the server.

Google AdSense connection code

Manual ads are currently disabled. However, the production site loads Google's AdSense site-connection code separately from Google sign-in. Requests may send the visited page URL, IP address and browser information to Google, and Google may read or set cookies. See Google's official information below for details about data use and personalized-ad settings.
