KYOTO SURVIVAL

Privacy & game rules

A small notebook, a small data footprint.

Survival is a fictional conversation game, not evidence that all Kyoto residents communicate this way. Original stories and adaptations of KYOTOEIC's editorial situations follow your completed plays and Kyoto's calendar. Recorded scenes keep their original version. Independent native-speaker review remains future work.

The server records an internal traveler ID, an optional nickname, your Kyoto play dates, chosen replies and outcomes. A random HttpOnly cookie proves ownership and lasts up to 180 days for a guest. Visiting alone never increases your record. Server records remain until you delete the diary; cookie expiry does not automatically delete them.

Your diary and profile are private. Sharing creates a card with day and game statistics, without your nickname or answers. You can delete your Survival account and records in the notebook. Signing out ends this browser's session; deletion ends all account sessions. Guest access cannot be recovered after losing the cookie without first linking Google.

One decision is final for each Kyoto calendar date. Missing a day or an unsuccessful reply ends the current streak, but never the total days or best streak. Another browser can create a separate guest; guest mode is not proof of a unique person.

There are no manual ads, payment gates or supporter bonuses in Survival. See our privacy notice for information about the site-wide Google AdSense connection code and data processing.

Privacy & game rules

Google sign-in requests only OpenID identity. We store Google's stable account identifier to find your diary on another device; the app session lasts up to 90 days. We do not store your email, Google photograph, access token or refresh token. A sign-in request is sent only when you choose to sign in.

Send your ending. Let your friend find their own reply. The link has no name or answer and expires after seven days.

Community and collections

Posts store your chosen public nickname, text, language, timestamps, moderation status and account link. Only approved posts are public; approved, spoiler-free general reviews may be featured on the homepage. Google names, email addresses and account identifiers are not published. Reports store the reason and reporting account for review. You can delete your posts; deleting your Survival account also deletes its posts, reports, mail read status and title selection. Private collection progress comes from your completed plays. Posting limits remain until account deletion, even if a post is removed. Calendar files contain no account information and are managed by your own calendar app.
